The Convergence of Population Ageing with Climate Change
New publication by Prof Sarah Harper in the Journal of Population Ageing – The Convergence of Population Ageing with Climate Change.
The Climate Emergency Declaration was first issued in 2016 by selected countries and other jurisdictions to set priorities to mitigate climate change, with some 1180 jurisdictions and governments posting a Climate Emergency Declaration by November 2019. This alerts us to the fact that population ageing is not occurring in a vacuum – and that it is at the intersection of this trend with the other mega-trends of the twenty-first century, that some of the most important research questions lie.
